Dr. Nguyen Xuan Dong graduated with a degree in Agricultural Science from Kyoto University, Japan in 2020. His doctoral dissertation focused on the study of gene expression regulation mechanisms in macrofungi, particularly cis-elements and introns. After graduation, Dr. Dong stayed at Kyoto University for two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the JSPS program, researching the application of CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology and transcriptomics to study the gene regulation mechanisms for lignocellulose degradation.
His current main research areas are:
(i) Research on gene expression regulation mechanisms in macrofungi and microfungi;
(ii) Application of gene editing technology to create/enhance fungal characteristics;
(iii) Application of microbial technology in agriculture and environmental protection.
Currently, in addition to being a lecturer in the School of Biotechnology at Tan Tao University, Dr. Dong is a postdoctoral researcher at Tokyo University of Science, Japan.
